She is best known for her part in the role of Samantha Jones on HBO's Sex and the City (1998-2004), for which she received five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations, receiving the 2002 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. The role was reprised in the movies Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010). Cattrall's film debut was in Rosebud (1975) in which she was later cast in several roles on television.
