Jennifer Carpenter Bio

Jennifer Leann Carpenter (born December 7, 1979) is an American actress from the United States. She is most well-known for her roles in the roles of Debra Morgan and Rebecca Harris in Showtime's Dexter. She began her role as Erica Shepherd in The Enemy Within which is an NBC drama. Carpenter was first acknowledged for her performance as Emily Rose in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and also received an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also named Breakout Performer during the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married on New Year's Eve 2008 in California. In January 2009, they made their first public appearance together as a couple the 66th Golden Globe Awards. In December of 2010, Hall and Carpenter released an announcement that they had filed for divorce following having been separated "for several time".The divorce was finalized in December 2011, due to inconvenient differences, However, they remain very close family members. Carpenter and Seth Avett became engaged on February 10 in 2015. Carpenter was eight and half months pregnant at the time she shot the pilot episode of Limitless, gave birth to her son in May 2015. Carpenter and Avett were married in May of 2016.
